The SITRANS LVL100 is an integrated level switch designed for industrial use in all areas of process technology and can be used with liquids and pastes. With a insertion length of only 40 mm (1.57 "), the SITRANS LVL100 can be installed in small pipe or limited space applications. It is almost impervious to the chemical and physical properties of liquids. LVL100 can also be used in various applications including turbulence, bubbles, foams, accumulations, or strong external vibrations.

The tuning fork is piezo-energized and vibrates at a mechanical resonance frequency of about 1200Hz. When the tuning fork is covered by the medium, the vibration frequency changes. This change is detected by the integrated oscillator, which is then converted to a switch command. The integrated electronics estimate the level signal and then output a switch signal to operate the connected device directly.
